mamagoto
peformance + installation

Around Festival HongKong August 20- 30 2010

On Mt. Davis there is bunker-site left from WW II. There we found
many plastic gun bullets on the ground from weekly war-game players.
I collected them and used for the cooking performance "mamagoto".
"mamagoto" is a children play imitating adults' culinary practices.
The word 'mamma' belongs to baby talk and is borrowed
from the ancient spoken language meaning 'food', especially rice,
while 'goto' (or 'koto')means 'thing', or 'act'.
Through the performance sounds are prepared, recorded and served
on the tray, which later installed on terrace outside. Installation is to be
experienced with the actual sound and view from the surroundings.
